2022 Porsche new cars

Porsche’s new releases for 2022 are limited to variant additions, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be any less exciting with new arrivals such the Taycan GTS, 911 GTS and a brand-new 718 Cayman GT4 RS.

While Porsche isn’t bringing any headline new debuts to market in 2022, the brand will release a series of new variants for a number of its model lines.

From the get-go Porsche will release two new versions of its popular Taycan electric car. The first is an entry-level rear-wheel-drive model grade priced from $156,300 before on-road costs.

A matching entry-level variant called the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, also serves as the most affordable option in its respective range (high-riding wagon), priced from $176,600 before on-road costs.

Also arriving in the first quarter of 2022 (January to March) is Porsche’s 992-generation 911 GTS. It scores more power, a stiffer chassis and unique styling tweaks over regular 911 variants, and can be had in Coupe, soft-top Cabriolet, and Targa body styles. Drive is sent to the rear- or all four wheels, while a manual gearbox is available on the rear-drive GTS coupe – the only non-GT 911 to offer three pedals.

Matching its 911 stablemate, Porsche will introduce a GTS variant to the Taycan model line for the first time in the second quarter of 2022 (April to June). It slots between the 4S and Turbo in the line-up and features a mild power boost, sharper dynamics, black styling elements, and the inclusion of many options as standard.

Overseas buyers get the choice of a Taycan GTS in sedan or Sport Turismo wagon body styles, but unfortunately Australians will be limited to the four-door version.

Moving up a size, a new special-edition Panamera is on the way around the second quarter of 2022. The Panamera Platinum Edition adds a series of previously-optional items such as 21-inch Exclusive Design Sport wheels, black exhaust tips, Exclusive Design tail lights, platinum badges, black window trim, and GT sports steering wheel.

Arguably the most sporty of all, the long-rumoured and fan-requested 718 Cayman GT4 RS will arrive mid-way through 2022. It’ll make a debut sporting GT3-scaring performance from a 368kW flat-six, hardcore dynamics and styling, and an eye-watering $300,800 price tag.
