2022 Jaguar new cars

After pouncing with a selection of facelifted models in 2021, Britain’s leaping cat luxury brand will take a rest in 2022 – and possibly until the middle of the decade.

Whereas brands such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen have detailed expansive model roll-outs for 2022, Jaguar is yet to confirm any new model launches for 2022 (as of publishing).

In fact, according to a report from French publication Le Monde in late November 2021, Jaguar will not launch any new models until 2025, when its new range of all-electric vehicles arrives, set to ride on a dedicated battery-electric platform and set their sights on Bentley and Aston Martin (rather than BMW, Volvo or Audi).

However, the report merely references “new models”, suggesting further updates or facelifts could be on the way for Jaguar’s existing portfolio, which will be one of the oldest in the industry by the middle of the decade – led by the XE sedan, launched in 2015.

Rumours suggest an updated I-Pace could be on the way for Model Year 2023, following patent images published in late 2020 – though such a model is yet to be confirmed.

Sister brand Land Rover will find 2022 to be more eventful, led by the launch of the all-new Range Rover luxury SUV in June – with further variants to follow by the end of the year – and the reveal of the new-generation Range Rover Sport, expected in late 2022 for Model Year 2023.

In 2021, Jaguar launched facelifted versions of nearly all of its models – XE, XF, F-Pace and E-Pace – followed by a new P450 version of its F-Type sports car, replacing the existing four-cylinder and V6 engines.
