Petrol prices spanned between $1.49 and $3.10 per litre in the same state yesterday. Here’s where deals are hot, and where they are not.

The cost of fuel has spiked to record highs in recent weeks, with retailers blaming record oil prices and new logistical challenges.

Nationally, the average price of 91 octane petrol this week is

$2.14 per litre, 95-octane petrol is $2.24 per litre, 98-octane petrol is $2.34 per litre, and diesel is $2.22 per litre.

Tasmania has the most expensive average petrol price at $2.37 per litre

(95 octane), while New South Wales and Victoria tied for the least expensive, at a still-unprecedented $2.19.

The most expensive
