Former Craig Lowndes Ford Falcon up for auction
An ex-Craig Lowndes Ford Falcon V8 Supercar is going under the hammer, with the current bid sitting at $140,000.
A former Craig Lowndes Triple Eight-built Ford Falcon Supercar is up for auction.
The Ford BF Falcon was first raced by the seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner in the 2008 season. Auctioned via Lloyds Auctions, chassis 888A-012A sports the livery it wore during its maiden season.
Along with Lowndes, the Falcon was then piloted by and various drivers across second and third-tier categories including James Moffat (2009), Tim Blanchard (2010), Jake Kostecki (2015) and Thomas Randle (2017).
“It’s not every day you get to own a Supercar driven by one of the sport’s most respected and iconic names in motor racing,” said Lloyds Auctions COO, Lee Hames.
“We have had enquiries from all over the country, both from Holden and Ford fans.
“We have sold many iconic race cars in recent months, we sold Walkinshaw Andretti United’s winning Supercar driven by Chaz Mostert back in September which sold for $600,000 under the hammer, so we won’t be surprised if Craig Lowndes’ V8 breaks the next motor racing record.”
The Supercar packs a 5.0-litre V8 engine paired to a six-speed hollinger sequential transmission and is rear-wheel drive. It sports Sachs shock absorbers along with magnesium supercar eight spoke wheels.
The current bid is listed at $140,000 and is set to go under the hammer on Sunday March 27 at 19:00 local time/AEST.
