Polestar delayed until next month, will offer seven-day money-back guarantee
The first car from Volvo’s electric-car offshoot Polestar will go on sale from next month after a stalled start, but will launch with a seven-day money-back guarantee.
Electric-car brand Polestar will launch in Australia in March – a few months later than planned – with a seven-day money-back guarantee.
Polestar customers in Australia are entitled to a full refund within seven days of purchase provided the vehicle has travelled no further than 500km from delivery.
The Polestar buyback deal is available to private customers. “If for any reason a customer is dissatisfied with their purchase, they can return their vehicle for a full refund,” says Polestar Australia.
“A new vehicle is often the second-largest purchase a person will make after a home, so it’s important to not only recognise that, but to also stand behind our vehicles – and our customers – with a guarantee that provides the peace-of-mind and confidence in the direct-to-consumer model,” Polestar Australia managing director, Samantha Johnson, said in a media statement.
As reported previously, the Polestar 2 starts from $59,900 plus on-road costs for the standard range, single-motor edition – and $64,900 plus on-road costs for the long range, single-motor edition.
The Polestar 2 long range, dual-motor edition costs from $69,900 plus on-road costs.
Polestar is selling its vehicles online at non-negotiable fixed prices.
Despite Polestar being an offshoot of Volvo – which built its reputation on safety – Polestar has elected to charge extra for safety aids that are standard on a Toyota Corolla SX hatch, or the even the cheapest Isuzu D-Max ute.
By making certain advanced safety features an extra-cost option, certain variants of the new Polestar range limbo under the thresholds for rebates for electric cars in some jurisdictions in Australia.
