Video of 2022 Nissan Z exhaust sound published online
A new Nissan Z sports car is just around the corner, and fans are keen to find out as much as they can. But is revving a cold engine a step too far?
Revving a cold engine just to hear the exhaust sound is usually a sign of someone who either doesn’t know about – or care about – cars.
And yet here we are. Perhaps this vehicle is not their own.
That’s hopefully the case with this video that has appeared overnight (past week?) that shows someone revving a parked Nissan Z just so we can hear the (rather tame) exhaust note from its 298kW/475Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine.
We assume the engine is cold due to the condensation coming out of the twin exhaust tips.
Either way, this isn’t what we had in mind for our first listen to the new Nissan Z car.
Check out the video and let us know if you think any Nissan Zs were harmed during the making of this film.
Would you rev the engine of your new car while it was still cold? Let us know in the comments below.
Meantime, we’re hearing the new 2022 Nissan Z is still on track for a mid-year showroom arrival in Australia.
Prices and specification details are yet to be announced, beyond confirmation the model range at launch will comprise two variants, with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions (more details here).
Stay tuned to Drive for further updates.
