2022 Toyota Yaris GRMN caught on camera ahead of Tokyo Auto Salon unveiling

Photos of the 2022 Toyota Yaris GRMN have appeared online on the set-up day for the Tokyo Auto Salon, where it is due to be unveiled today.

The 2022 Toyota Yaris GRMN has been revealed ahead of its official launch today at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

Photos from the set-up day show what is believed to be the 2022 Toyota Yaris GRMN alongside a rally version of the car.

Both vehicles are wearing GRMN display plates.

Snapchat user “Dino_Dalle_Cabonare” – contributing editor to enthusiast publication Speedhunters – published blurry photos of the limited-edition “GRMN” models, as well as other surprises.

It appears he may have been walking past – or driving past on a motorised buggy – when taking the images.

One of the GR Yaris models is sporting an exposed carbon fibre bonnet, but it is unclear if this is road-going part or designed for motorsport homologation.

A large rear wing – as seen in numerous spy photos – can also also be distinguished.

Overseas reports claim the 2022 Yaris GRMN is set to offer a 200kW/390Nm engine tune, new differentials, and carbon-fibre-reinforced parts.

Check back with Drive later today when we publish full details.
