Despite car companies shifting their attentions elsewhere, a whopping 2.6 million Australians still drive a diesel car – representing roughly 16 per cent of the nation's 16.2 million-strong fleet. According to new Roy Morgan data, diesel is second only to petrol in popularity, with petrol cars making up 80 per cent of the vehicles on Australia's roads.
