The Rezvani Tank has been revealed this week, becoming the second model in the small-volume American company’s line-up.
Pitched as an Xtreme Utility Vehicle (XUV), the Tank is a military-inspired off-roader that looks like it belongs in a Transformers movie.
Headlining the specification list is what’s under the bonnet – or “hood” – a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 sourced from SRT, pumping out 500 horsepower (373kW). It’s likely the Tank’s engine is similar to the 350kW/637Nm unit used in the Chrysler 300 SRT, while drive is sent to an on-demand four-wheel drive system.
According to Rezvani, the Tank’s design was inspired by “the look of some of the world’s most recognisable military vehicles, but designed for civilian use”. The look itself was created by Samir Sadikhov, who is also responsible for the design of the Rezvani Beast sports car.
Up front the slim grille and headlights bear resemblance to the Beast, while the large LED fog-lights and roof-mounted LED light bar provide extra visibility off the beaten track.
While not confirmed by the manufacturer, it seems clear the Rezvani Tank’s body-on-frame chassis is borrowed from the Jeep Wrangler, a theory that is strengthened by the obvious similarities between the two off-roaders in the cabin (below).

Inside, there’s seating for five accessed by ‘suicide’ doors. The seats are available with an optional hand-stitched leather trim in conjunction with a suede headliner.
At the centre of the dash is a 7.9-inch infotainment system, featuring services like Google Maps, Pandora and Stitcher. There’s also an optional head-up display (HUD) for the driver.
Rezvani is offering a range of other options and packages for the Tank, including a 6.0-inch lift kit with 37-inch off-road tyres, Dynatrac ProRock XD60/80 axles with air lockers an air compressor and upgraded shocks, along with a FLIR thermal night vision camera system, and bulletproofing.
Other extras include a tow hitch with front-mounted winch, an off-road wheel package, along with automatic doors and side steps.
The Rezvani Tank starts at US$178,500 ($227,766) before options, which represents quite a hike over the Jeep Wrangler on which it’s likely based – the five-door Unlimited starts at US$27,895 ($35,594) in the States.
Reserved for the US market only at this stage, orders for the Rezvani Tank are being taken now, with first deliveries expected in late 2017.
