Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo revealed for the track
The Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo has been revealed this week by the company’s motorsport division, wearing a livery to celebrate new sponsorship.
Compared to the model it replaces, the Italian racing bull gets a new carbon-fibre body kit, which helps to improve overall aerodynamic efficiency while also maintaining the downforce achieved by the outgoing vehicle.
A new roof hatch device has also been added, which Lamborghini says helps to improve safety.
Meanwhile, the matte-grey and yellow exterior finish was specifically designed to commemorate Lamborghini’s new partnership with Roger Dubuis, a Swiss watchmaking company.
No details of the powertrain or outputs have been released, though it’s almost certain a version of the production car’s 5.2-litre V10 will feature.
The Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo is now available to prospective racing teams from 235,000 euros ($354,746) in Europe and Asia, and USD$295,000 ($372,791) in the USA.
Scheduled to make its track debut in the northern hemisphere’s spring of 2018, the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo will enter in the three continental championships of Lamborghini Super Trofeo – in Europe, Asia and North America.
Teams that already have the current Huracan Super Trofeo will be able to purchase the upgraded carbon-fibre body kit to bring their vehicle to the new model’s specifications.
