Trent test drives Kate Ritchie’s 2018 Subaru Impreza

When Kate Ritchie needed someone to check her car for a radio promotion, she needed the world’s pre-eminent ‘modern-classic’ Subaru Impreza expert… Trent.

2018 Subaru Impreza Review – Lipstick sold separately.

Drive’s Managing Editor Trent Nikolic, recently joined actor and radio personality, Kate Ritchie, to give Nova 96.9FM’s audience his expert opinion on a car that one lucky listener could potentially win – Kate’s very own Subaru.

In something of a novel concept (that became a much bigger idea), Kate decided to give away her personal car, a dark blue 2018 Subaru Impreza hatch, but with a slight catch. In order to win, you have to impress Kate.

Before that all goes ahead though, Kate needed to prove that her car was up to scratch, so the Nova team called Trent to impress Kate with his car reviewing skills.

Kate and Trent took the car for a run around Sydney to see what one lucky winner could be in for.

“The last time I reviewed a 2018 Subaru Impreza, was 2018,” Trent said. “However, I have to say, this car still stacks up. It rides nicely, the steering is good, and it’s a practical car for anyone living in the city. There’s a good reason Subaru fans keep coming back to buy a new one when the time comes to upgrade.”

Trent was impressed with the way Kate had looked after her Impreza given it’s been her daily driver for the time she has owned it. “Kate has always serviced the car, looked after it, and treated it with respect, despite the fact that this is her daily driven, family vehicle,” he said. “The servicing and maintenance is all up to date and taken care of.”

Kate’s car has a few minor marks – as you’d expect from a nearly six-year-old car, but it’s in otherwise really good condition. It’s got plenty of life left in it for the lucky winner.

“I haven’t looked at the wheels yet, but the good news for the lucky winner is you might not have to worry about scratching the wheels either, because they might already be scratched,” Trent suggested.

“I have a feeling they might be,” Kate admitted with a laugh. “This has been a great car though, I’ve loved it.”

With no rattles, squeaks or issues, and up-to-date service history, the car gets Trent’s tick of approval. But to win, it is Kate you need to impress. For more information on the 2018 Subaru Impreza, click on Drive’s dealer listing here.

Note: Drive is not involved with the radio promotion, Trent just happens to be top of Kate’s rolodex in terms of people to call for expert help and guidance about cars! Good luck!
