2024 Toyota Prado leaked, full unveiling hours away
Here’s the new Toyota Prado before you’re meant to see it – thanks to leaked images posted on social media – ahead of its full unveiling at 11:20am AEST today.
The new 2024 Toyota Prado has surfaced early in leaked images on social media hours ahead of its official unveiling later today.
Images shared on Instagram by Kurdistan Automotive Blog and other pages show the US version of the new Prado – where the LandCruiser name is due to return after a brief hiatus since the end of the 200 Series in 2021, as the 300 Series is not sold there.
The photos show two versions of the new Prado: a cheaper model with black bumpers and 70 Series-inspired circular headlight signatures, and a higher-grade variant with partly body-coloured bumpers, larger wheels, two-tone paint, and slimmer rectangular headlights.

The badge on the back of the blue vehicle – and a shot of its engine bay – confirm it will be available with a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in a hybrid system.
It is said to develop 243kW, sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels, with a low-range mode and locking rear and centre differentials.
This system is shared with the Toyota Tacoma pick up in the US, and other Toyota and Lexus vehicles internationally.
It remains to be seen if this hybrid system will be available in Australia, or if the familiar 2.8-litre turbo diesel four-cylinder engine will remain the only option. Drive exclusively revealed details of the new Prado’s engine line-up last month.
Inside there is Toyota’s latest technology, with a widescreen 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 12.3-inch infotainment display.
Come back to Drive after 11:20am AEST today for full, official details on the 2024 Toyota Prado, including its Australian release date.
