Range Rover Evoque facelift caught on camera

Range Rover’s smallest SUV is due to get a mild ‘nip and tuck’ facelift of the headlights and tail-lights in the coming months, but the company has covered the rest of this prototype in stickers any way.

The second-generation Range Rover Evoque is set to celebrate its fifth birthday with a fresh new look.

The facelifted version of the Evoque has been captured undergoing testing in Europe ahead of its debut later this year.

Even though the minor cosmetic changes appear to extend primarily to the headlights, tail-lights and grille, for some reason the company has chosen to camouflage the carryover parts as well, such as the rest of the body which is expected to remain unchanged.

The second-generation Range Rover Evoque went on sale in 2019, which means it’s now due for a mid-life refresh.

The camouflaged test vehicle features two flaps in the bodywork, suggesting it could be the updated plug-in hybrid variant. The current Evoque PHEV offers a 15kWh battery pack and a claimed 62km electric-only range, but given the speed at which the electric market is developing, it is possible that the face-lifted version could see improvements in these areas.

Other styling changes seem to be relatively minimal. While some slight revisions may be applied to different trim levels, differences at the rear are also subtle, with a slightly rounder lower bumper being the most notable change.

Unlike it’s larger new-generation Range Rover and Range Rover Sport siblings, the Evoque is shown to keep a single antenna rather than employing the new ‘twin-fin’ design.

The updated Range Rover Evoque is anticipated to be fully unveiled soon, with plans for showroom arrivals later this year.
