2023 Kia Seltos price and specs: Facelift imminent
The facelifted Kia Seltos small SUV is due this month with new technology, a tweaked look and more turbo power – but prices have risen.
- 2023 Kia Seltos pricing and specifications
- Updated range arrives with new look
- More power for 1.6-litre turbo models
- Priced from $31,690 drive-away
The facelifted 2023 Kia Seltos small SUV range is due in Australian showrooms later this month, priced from $31,690 drive-away – up to $2900 more than the outgoing model.
As reported, the updated Seltos gains an upgraded interior, a new look inspired by the Sportage, longer standard feature lists, and more power and a new transmission for turbo models – but Kia has increased prices by between $2200 and $2900 drive-away.
Four models are available, as before – S, Sport, Sport+ and GT-Line – offering a 2.0-litre non-turbo petrol engine with front-wheel drive across the range, or optional 1.6-litre turbo-petrol all-wheel-drive power on the Sport+ and GT-Line.
The Safety Pack option previously offered on the S and Sport models has been discontinued, and many of its features fitted as standard. With the Safety Pack fitted to the outgoing model, the new Seltos S and Sport are $1400 to $1600 dearer drive-away than the models they replace.
Features now standard on the entry-level S include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert (both capable of detecting and braking for obstacles), traffic sign recognition, a larger 4.2-inch driver display, front parking sensors, and 16-inch alloy wheels (replacing steel wheels with hubcaps).
At the top of the range, new-for-2023 features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, hands-free power tailgate and driver’s seat memory. However, the surround-view camera and remote parking features available in South Korea is not available in Australia.
All models from the mid-trim Sport up are fitted with Kia Connect services, allowing owners to control a range of vehicle functions from a smartphone app.
Powering most models a 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 110kW and 180Nm to the front wheels through a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT).
High-end models are available with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which now develops 146kW and 265Nm (up from 130kW/265Nm) – and is mated to a traditional eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the seven-speed dual-clutch auto, with carry-over all-wheel drive.
A full list of standard features and pricing is included at the bottom of this story.
