2023 Volvo V60 Cross Country price and specs

The last remaining wagon in the Volvo range has gained a few new features – and a higher price – for the new model year.

  • 2023 Volvo V60 Cross Country pricing and specifications
  • Heated rear seats, new infotainment software added
  • Mild-hybrid powertrain and one model grade retained
  • Priced from $68,490 plus on-road costs, up $3500

The 2023 Volvo V60 Cross Country has been hit with a $3500 price hike for the new model year.

The V60 Cross Country – available in one mild-hybrid ‘B5’ variant – is now priced from $68,490 plus on-road costs, up $3500 from its launch last year, when it replaced three low-riding versions of Volvo’s mid-size V60 wagon.

Coinciding with the price rise is the addition of heated rear seats as standard (previously not available at all, even as an option), new instrument cluster graphics, plus a tweaked rear bumper design without the old model’s dual chrome exhaust tips.

More significant is Volvo’s latest infotainment software, based on Google’s Android Automotive tech, with built-in Google Maps and Google Assistant. Apple CarPlay is included – but the need for Android Auto is made redundant, as the whole infotainment system is Google-based.

Carry-over standard features include a 9.0-inch centre display, 19-inch wheels, heated electric front seats, wireless phone charging, four-zone climate control, a head-up display, power tailgate, leather-accented upholstery, and a suite of advanced safety aids.

A full list of standard features, optional extras and available colours is included at the bottom of this story.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine as before, sending 183kW and 350Nm through an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

A 48-volt mild-hybrid system is fitted, using an ‘integrated starter-generator’ – in place of a traditional starter motor – and a small battery to reduce load on the engine to save fuel, and restart the engine faster off the traffic lights than a normal start-stop system.

Volvo quotes a 0-100km/h time of 6.9 seconds, and claimed fuel consumption of 7.4 litres per 100km in a mix of city and highway driving. Braked towing capacity is rated at 1800kg, matching the S60 sedan, while the fuel tank can hold 60 litres.
