2023 Volkswagen Amarok base, Life and Style models revealed
Meet the more affordable versions of the new Volkswagen Amarok ute range, shown for the first time ahead of local showroom arrivals next year.
Images of the more affordable model grades in the 2023 Volkswagen Amarok range – the eponymous ‘Amarok’, one-model-up Life, and mid-grade Style – have surfaced, ahead of the first Australian showroom arrivals due early next year.
Official photos published by Volkswagen at the new Amarok’s reveal last month focused on the high-end, road-oriented Aventura and off-road PanAmericana models, without showcasing the more affordable workhorse models.
But shown briefly during the new Amarok’s global unveiling live-stream were stylised sketches of the front ends of the other three model grades: the base model, known simply as the Amarok, plus the mid-grade Amarok Life and Amarok Style.
All three models will be available in Australia – alongside the Aventura and PanAmericana – with 2.0-litre single-turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder or 3.0-litre turbo V6 diesel engines, depending on grade.
The base Amarok (above) can be differentiated by its black front bumper and door mirrors – both of which it’s expected to offer in Australia – joining standard (non-matrix) LED headlights, and a silver grille with four ‘notches’ (between the VW badge and headlights).
The Amarok Life (below) adds body-coloured finishes for the bumpers and mirrors, as well as the door handles.

In the middle of the range is the Amarok Style (top of story), which appears to get a different grille design (with two ‘notches’, not four), silver door mirrors, and upgraded matrix LED headlights.
Above these three model grades are the Aventura (pictured in blue, below) and PanAmericana (brown, below)m, which get a unique ‘X-design’ front bumper, and various other touches inside and out.
It’s unclear how representative these official sketches are of the final vehicles, however the differences between model grades align with specifications published by Volkswagen Australia.
In addition to the dual-cab body offered in Australia, buyers in overseas markets will also be able to opt for a two-door, single-cab pick-up model – but this is not planned for sale Down Under.
