2021-2022 Mitsubishi Outlander recalled in Australia

The fault could cause the rear-view camera to no longer function while reversing, according to the recall notice.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia has recalled 6552 examples of its 2021-2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, citing a potential fault with the vehicle’s reversing camera.

The affected Outlanders are the latest generation models, sold by Mitsubishi from October 2021 and includes examples in showrooms now.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a software issue with the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) unit, the rear-view camera display may not display the rear camera image as intended.

“If the rear-view camera display does not display the rear camera image while reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.”
