New toll road rebate for NSW drivers

NSW motorists who regularly use toll roads will receive as much as $750 back each year under a new scheme from the State Government.

The New South Wales Government has announced a new program designed to ease cost-of-living pressures for families.

Around half a million drivers in NSW will receive a cash rebate of up to $750 a year, paid quarterly for those who spend more than $375 annual on toll roads in the state.

Motorists will receive a 40 per cent rebate on tolls, with the money to be paid directly into bank accounts.

The new rebate is in addition to the M5 South West Cashback Scheme, which allows NSW residents to claim back tolls when using the M5 motorway for private, pensioner, or charitable use.

“These rebates will improve the affordability of toll road travel for individuals, families and small businesses,” NSW Treasurer Matt Kean said at the latest announcement.

“This package will put money back in motorists’ bank accounts to help ease cost of living pressures.”
