Limited-edition Pagani Huayra Codalunga long-tail unveiled
Bespoke Italian manufacturer Pagani has revealed the limited-edition Huayra Codalunga just months before the brand’s next-gen ‘C10’ hypercar makes its debut.
Italian hypercar manufacturer Pagani has whipped the covers back from its Huayra Codalunga special edition – which comes more than ten years after the nameplate’s debut, features a ‘long-tail’ rear end, and is limited to just five examples.
Born out of the imagination of two respected Pagani owners, the Huayra Codalunga – Italian for long-tail – started life as a one-off special edition before developing into a handful of production examples.
But, before you get too excited, the seven-million euro hypercar ($AU11,101,000) run of five is already sold out.
Owners lucky enough to get their hands on the special edition will receive a Huayra lengthened with respect to Italian Le Mans race cars and coach-built sports cars of the 1960s.
It also gets a revised front fascia with a wide, unbroken grille. Under the lengthened rear decklid sits an updated version of the Huayra’s 6.0-litre AMG-supplied twin-turbo V12 engine, which now outputs 617kW/1100Nm.
Fitted to the tweaked powertrain is a new ceramic-coated titanium exhaust system which weighs just 4.4kg. In fact, the entire car weighs only 1280kg.
The Pagani Grandi Complicazioni special projects team has worked on the project for the last five years, in consultation with those who commissioned the car. Every detail was painstakingly pored over to ensure it met the specific requirements of the two well-heeled clients.
Great attention to detail is also paid to the interior, which is adorned in neutral and matte shades. Just about every surface inside the cabin is upholstered with a leather finish, while woven two-tone leather and brushed aluminium feature as accents.
The Pagani Huayra Codalunga comes as the brand begins to transition to its next-generation hypercar, currently codenamed C10. The Pagani C10 is set to make its debut on 12 September 2022.
