Citroen My Ami Buggy micro car concept to go into production
Citroen has launched a limited run of the off-road-themed My Ami Buggy micro car, off the back of a positive response to the concept revealed in December last year.
The Citreen My Ami Buggy micro car will go into production for the French market, it has been confirmed.
After the positive reception the concept received after its reveal late last year, a limited production run will soon be available to order in France, limited to 50 cars. As part of the online buying process, each customer will receive VIP home delivery.
Eurig Druce, Managing Director of Citroen UK, said: “The introduction of a limited run My Ami Buggy clearly demonstrates how customer reaction can help to shape Citroën’s product planning. It’s only available in France for now, and I know it will be a huge success. If there’s sufficient interest from customers here, then there’s every conceivable chance we could see future versions of My Ami Buggy on sale in the UK.”
Several elements from the Ami Pop and Ami Vibe model grades have been included in this edition, including enhancements to the front and rear bumpers, and additional trim around the lights.
Finished in Khaki, the car also sports yellow accents on the bodywork, 14-inch perforated gold wheels, hinged metal tubing to replace the doors, and a removable soft-top.
Each example will be distinctive, with a ‘My Ami Buggy Ultra Limited Edition’ plate on the dashboard, which will be numbered from one to 50. What’s more, the customer can also personalise the front end with a preferred message of their choice.
The special edition will go on sale in the coming days with deliveries commencing at the beginning of August. The Citroen Ami range isn’t sold in Australia.
