2023 Bentley Continental GT S revealed, confirmed for Australia
Bentley’s V8 coupe and convertible can now be had in a dynamic S variant, with active anti-roll bars, a sports exhaust and various visual tweaks.
The 2023 Bentley Continental GT S has been revealed, ahead of an Australian launch due early next year.
The successor to the 2015-18 Continental GT S, the new variants of Bentley’s coupe and convertible pair carry-over V8 power with suspension upgrades and styling tweaks for a more dynamic driving experience.
Under the bonnet is the same 404kW/770Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 as the standard GT V8 variant, mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive for a 0-100km/h time of 4.0 seconds.
Chassis upgrades for the GT include an 48-volt active anti-roll control system which counteracts body roll in corners and improves comfort at highway speeds (by decoupling the left and right-hand wheels), plus a new sports exhaust system for improved sound.
Visual upgrades include gloss black finishes for the grille, exterior trim, mirror caps, skirts and splitters, plus black exhaust tips, S badging on the front quarters, and dark-tinted headlights and tail-lights.
Filling the arches are 21-inch or 22-inch alloy wheels, hiding red brake calipers. The only styling elements not finished in black are the Bentley badges and model lettering, both finished in bright chrome.
Inside, two-tone sports seats trimmed in Dinamica suede and leather feature, joining Dinamica on the steering wheel and gear selector, or leather on the door pads, atop the instrument panel, and around the centre console.
The seats also feature fluted patterns and ‘S’ emblems (or Bentley logos) embroidered into the headrests. Other upgrades include metal ‘S’ dashboard badging, illuminated sill plates, and unique graphics for the instrument display.
The 2023 Bentley Continental GT S is due to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2023 (January to March).
Pricing is yet to be confirmed, though expect a moderate premium over the standard GT V8, which costs $430,400 plus on-road costs as a coupe, or $473,400 as a GTC S convertible.
