2019-2021 McLaren GT recalled in Australia with airbag fault

A fault could cause the airbags to fail in a crash, according to the manufacturer.

Supercar maker McLaren has recalled 29 examples of its 2019-2021 McLaren GT, citing an airbag fault.

The affected vehicles are stamped Model Year 2019-2021.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “The connection to the driver airbag may not meet manufacturing specifications. As a result the passenger airbag may not deploy as intended.

“In the event of an accident an airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
