2022 Maserati Levante, Ghibli, Quattroporte MC Edition confirmed for Australia

Maserati has revealed another special edition variant of its first SUV and two ageing sedans, inspired by the company’s racing heritage.

The 2022 Maserati Levante, Ghibli and Quattroporte MC Edition specials have been revealed, ahead of first arrivals in Australian showrooms in the second quarter of this year (April to June).

Designed to “celebrate Maserati’s uncompromising performance and racing spirit”, the MC (Maserati Corse) Edition variants add new coloured elements, black design features, and typically-optional features compared to twin-turbo V8 ‘Trofeo’ versions of the Levante large SUV, Ghibli large sedan and Quattroporte flagship sedan.

Available in Giallo Corse (Racing Yellow) and Blu Vittoria (Victory Blue) three-layer paint colours, the MC Editions gain black exterior accents, unique door pillar and rear quarter badging, blue brake calipers, and gloss black alloy wheels measuring 21 inches on the sedans, or 22 inches on the Levante.

Inside, the black ‘Nero Pienofiore’ leather seats gain ‘denim’ accents and yellow and blue stitching, joined by blue carbon-fibre accents, MC Edition headrest embroidery, and a special badge on the centre console.

The special editions also gain an electric sunroof, Bowers and Wilkins surround system and Driver Assistance package as standard.

All MC Edition models (outside of China) are based on the Trofeo variants of each car, powered by 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged Ferrari V8 engines developing 427kW and 730Nm in the Ghibli and Quattroporte, or 433kW/730Nm in the Levante.

All three vehicles employ eight-speed automatic transmissions, though the Levante adds all-wheel drive, compared to the rear-wheel-drive sedans.

The 2022 Maserati Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte MC Edition are due to arrive in Australia in the second quarter of this year (April to June), with pricing and specifications to be announced closer to launch.
