2022 Mini new cars

The British marque has a tame year ahead in Australia, with a few limited-edition variants of existing models representing the only additions to the line-up.

BMW-subsidiary Mini had a quiet 2021, with sales up 11 per cent over the year prior – slightly below the industry average.

While a facelifted Cooper S arrived in Australian showrooms in October 2021, there are no new models on the horizon for the next 12 months.

However, Drive understands several yet-to-be-announced limited-edition variants of existing cars will go on sale in 2022.

A new three-door hatch – teased in these images – is slated for launch in 2023, and, while it’s yet to be confirmed, may be offered Down Under.

The marque has promised to go all electric by 2030, and its last petrol-powered model will break cover no later than 2025.
