2017-2020 Mercedes-Benz diesel cars recalled with fire risk
Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 8382 diesel-powered vehicles in Australia, citing a fire risk.
The affected cars are stamped Model Years 2017-2020, and comprise the C-Class, E -Class, G -Class, S -Class, GLE-Class and GLS-Class model ranges.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “A leak may develop between the coolant pump and the vacuum circuit. There is a possibility that the coolant may enter the vacuum circuit.
“If the coolant enters the vacuum circuit and comes in contact with certain components it will result in an increase in temperature of these components and may result in a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
