Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 from Bad Boys up for auction

No back seat. No cup holder. Just the way nature intended.
The 964-generation, 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 from the 1995 Hollywood blockbuster Bad Boys is hitting the auction block at the Mecum Kissimmee Florida event in January 2022.
When the 964 Turbo was released in 1990, it originally used an updated 3.3-litre version of the ‘M30’ flat-six from the previous-generation 930 Turbo. It took Porsche until 1993 to develop a turbo version of the 964 911’s ‘M64’ motor, which boosted power from 235kW to 265kW and increased torque from 450Nm to 520Nm.
The Turbo 3.6 was in production for just two model years (1993 and 1994) and just 1437 were made, to 3660 3.3 Turbos, making it one of the rarest of the breed.
Colloquially known as the ‘Bad Boys’ Porsche due to the car’s starring role in the movie’s opening sequence and final showdown, the auction car is the exact vehicle driven by Will Smith in the film, and still wears its French front number plate (the 75 at the end identifies the car as being registered in Paris) and ‘BAD BYS1’ Florida plate on the rear. Note that on the film’s poster the car has a far less clever plate, BVQ 40E.
Sold new to the film’s director Michael Bay, the auction includes all authenticity paperwork and original tool kit. There is no reserve price listed, but given recent auction performance of other Hollywood Porsches, you’ll need more than the $105,000 quoted by Mike Lowery to secure this slice of automotive history.
The auction runs from 6 to 16 January 2022.
