Toyota HiLux gets mega makeover courtesy of Carlex design
Polish car modification company Carlex mightn’t be a household name in Australia, but the Toyota HiLux certainly is – and what you see here is the culmination of the two.
The Toyota HiLux Hilly from Carlex’s Pickup Design workshop apparently showcases what happens when a bunch of car-mad modders get their hands on a tough dual-cab ute and let their imaginations run wild. I mean, this is pretty wild, right?
The changes are bold – a muscular body kit with fender extensions and new bumpers, while underneath the body there is higher-riding off-road suspension and custom wheels with mud-slinging tyres. Exact specifications for the hardware changes are hard to come by.
The roof-mounted LED light bar on the yellow version complements LED headlights, while the rear spoiler – if that’s what you’d call it – is certainly not to all tastes.
The changes haven’t just been kept to the exterior, with new “high quality unique” interior trimming and a new steering wheel.
“It’s Hilly: Your daily motivation for adventure, discovering the world and living on the max!” a Google-translated description from the company’s website proclaims.
“Passion, vision, great design combined with passion for the automotive, make us decide to create limited editions of off-road vehicles, bringing out the best, the strongest, the most impressive. We emphasise their character with strong, clear external and internal modifications. Limited editions are a guarantee of uniqueness and excellent performance, and thanks to modern technologies and the best materials it is also unbeatable quality!”
What do you think? The Carlex version, or perhaps a road-going iteration of the Toyota HiLux Tonka?
