Honda Civic Red Edition on sale in Australia
The Honda Civic Red Edition has been announced this week to celebrate the arrival of the Civic Type R hot hatch, bringing a sportier look to regular versions of the Japanese hatchback.
Available across four trim levels; VTi, VTi-S, VTi-L and VTi-LX, the Red Edition package costs an additional $2498 and will be limited to 228 vehicles – the same number as the Civic Type R’s power output.
Extra equipment includes 17-inch black alloys (set of four), a red front under spoiler, rear under spoiler and side skirts, along with ‘Red Edition’ floor mats. Honda notes, however, that VTi and VTi-S models will incur an additional cost due to the requirement for larger tyres to go with the bigger wheels.
Four exterior colours are compatible with the Red Edition specification; White Orchid (pearl), Lunar Silver (metallic), Sonic Grey (pearl) and Crystal Black (pearl).
The Civic Red Edition follows previous colour-themed specials, including the Black Pack and Orange Pack versions offered over the past year.
“Both [colour packs] were very popular with customers and sold out,” said Stephen Collins, director of Honda Australia.
“Customers love the boldness of the Honda Civic sedan and hatch and the eye-catching ‘Red Edition’ is an attention-grabbing styling statement for Civic customers looking to add some individuality to their cars.”
