2018 BMW X2 spied with almost no disguise
The upcoming BMW X2 has been spied again this week, with almost no effort made to hide its key styling details.
Finished in a metallic yellow similar to the shade used on the M3 and M4, the company’s new coupe-like crossover certainly stands out, though the overall design is fairly true to form considering it looks almost exactly like the Concept X2.
Compared to the show car, however, the production version has softer features at the front and rear. While it’s a companion for the X1, the X2 appears to have a unique frontal treatment, with its own foglight and headlight designs.

Underneath the swoopy and jacked-up body is the BMW Group’s UKL architecture, which it not only shares with its X1 sibling, but also the Mini range and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.
With that in mind, expect the X2 to offer a range of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, along with three-cylinder units in some markets as well.
It’s likely the X2 will make its production debut in the coming months, either before the end of this year or early in 2018.
Australia
The BMW X2 has already been confirmed for our market, given the recent SUV sales boom in Australia, though exact timing is still unknown.
We reckon it could be in local showrooms by mid-2018. Stay tuned for more updates.
