Volkswagen has teased an updated version of the I.D. Crozz electric SUV concept, ahead of its reveal at the Frankfurt motor show next week.
First revealed at the Shanghai motor show in April, the I.D. Crozz concept previews the company’s vision for a coupe-styled electric SUV, one of five new models to be released under the I.D. banner by 2022.
The ‘further refined’ concept car set to break cover in Frankfurt will feature revised front and rear ends, which Volkswagen says “point more in the direction of a production model”.
However, the overall package will stay true to the vehicle that was shown in Shanghai, with four individual seats, high-gloss black treatments to the roof and tailgate, along with its all-electric powertrain.
The Shanghai version (above and below) claimed a power output of 225kW, a range of 500 kilometres on a single charge, along with a top speed of around 180km/h.
It’s also equipped with a 150kW DC fast-charging system, allowing the I.D. Crozz to be charged to 80 per cent capacity within 30 minutes.
Other features of the I.D. Crozz concept include autonomous driving systems, an augmented reality information display for the driver, gesture-controlled vehicle functions, and a minimalistic cabin design that maximises occupant space and comfort.
