Pagani Zonda Fantasma Evo revealed
The Pagani Zonda Fantasma Evo has been unveiled, although it’s not exactly a brand new car.
Instead, the Fantasma Evo is a revived, restored and heavily modified version of a car that went out of production in 2011.
According to Top Speed and Motor1, the Fantasma Evo began life as the first right-hand Zonda F. The car trundled out the factory gates in 2005, but was ruined in car crash in Hong Kong several years later.
The driver walked away from the accident, and the remains of the car were shipped back to Pagani in Italy. The car was then rebuilt and upgraded to 760-spec with an AMG-derived 7.3-litre V12 boasting 567kW (760hp), along with new exposed weave carbon-fibre body panels, carbon-fibre aero parts, and a large rear wing.
At this stage, the car was rebranded as the Zonda SH after the owner’s initials, and later as the Zonda Fantasma, which is Italian for ghost.
The Evo suffix comes the car’s latest trip back to the factory, where it gained a six-speed manual transmission and extra carbon-fibre panels to further reduce weight.
