Did we accidentally stumble across Jaguar/Land Rover’s new key?
While rummaging through the all-new Jaguar E-Pace at the vehicle’s global reveal in London, we may have stumbled across the all-new Jaguar Land Rover key.
Given the age, weight and old school nature of Jaguar Land Rover’s trusty keyless entry fob, it was only a matter of time before the brand updated its key with sleeker and lighter version.
Located in the centre console of a Jaguar E-Pace display vehicle, this key had its internals taken out and was just a shell presumably used to start and move the display vehicles.
Despite being a Jaguar, the rear of the key featured a cut out circle area that looks as though it would perfectly fit the Land Rover logo, or an oval shaped Jaguar leaper.
The key was very light and made out of a hollow plastic material with chrome highlights around its outer edges.
The new key features a lock button with a second red lock symbol, an unlock button, a parking lights activation button, a tailgate release, along with an emergency button.
We’re not certain that this is indeed a new key for the brands, but given it was sitting in the company’s latest model, it suggests that it could replace the bulky Jaguar Land Rover key of yesteryear.
It will also work in unison with the Jaguar Activity Key, which also features on the all-new Jaguar E-Pace.
