2017 Maserati Ghibli Sport arrives in Australia
The limited-edition 2017 Maserati Ghibli Sport is now on sale in Australia, starting at $149,990 drive-away.
Based on the twin-turbo petrol ‘Ghibli‘ variant, the Ghibli Sport adds a range of sporty interior and exterior enhancements to give the company’s smaller sedan a more athletic presence, which the company says adds around $16,000 worth of extra value.
Standard on the special edition model is the Maserati Carbon Pack, which adds carbon-fibre trim to the door mirrors, B-pillar and door handles, along with a carbon-fibre lip spoiler on the bootlid.
Inside, the Ghibli Sport gets full-leather front sports seats with extended leather trim throughout the cabin, a leather sports steering wheel and Inox Sport pedals.
The sporty special also gets the company’s Dual Cast Braking System, which Maserati says gives the Ghibli Sport “a new level of stopping power”.
Under the bonnet is the same 257kW/500Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine co-developed with Ferrari, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending drive to the rear wheels. Claimed fuel consumption is rated at 8.9L/100km.
Like the Ghibli, the Ghibli Sport can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 267km/h.
The 2017 Maserati Ghibli Sport is available to order now until the end of June, or while stocks last – Australia’s allocation is limited to just 60 units.
