2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake teased ahead of debut
The next-generation Jaguar XF Sportbrake wagon has been teased ahead its debut in the not-too-distant future.
Overnight, the British luxury car maker released an overhead shot of the new wagon, which shows off the variant’s large panoramic roof.
The company also had the silhouette of the XF Sportbrake painted on the Wimbledon’s centre court, as it is a sponsor of this year’s grand slam tournament.
As we saw in earlier spy photos, the XF wagon differs from the sedan primarily through its longer roof and new body work aft of the C-pillar.
Both the XF sedan and wagon are based the Jaguar’s latest aluminium architecture, which is shared with XE sedan, F-Pace SUV, and Range Rover Velar.
Drivetrains will be shared with the XF sedan. At present, the XF sedan can be specified with one of four engines: 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel motors, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol, and a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6. All-wheel drive is available overseas.
Australia
The company has confirmed the XF wagon will go on sale in Europe during the third quarter of this year.
At last year’s Paris motor show, James Scrimshaw, senior public affairs executive for Jaguar Land Rover Australia, told CarAdvice that, although we missed out on the first-generation XF wagon, the company will definitely bring the new XF Sportbrake to Australia.
The company hopes to have the more capacious XF in Australian showrooms by the end of 2017.
