2017 Fiat 500 Mirror adds latest smartphone tech
The special-edition 2017 Fiat 500 Mirror has been revealed in Europe with the latest smartphone connectivity, but it appears buyers in Australia are set to miss out.
The new Fiat 500 Mirror model is named after its smartphone mirroring tech, with the media system including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – two in-demand items from consumers, particularly in the city car segment of the market.
Plenty of other players now have the tech, including the Holden Spark – one of the first in the segment to get both platforms.
FCA Australia senior manager of corporate communications, Glenn Butler, indicated that there’s no word on an Australian debut for that streaming tech at this point.
“We’d love to add technologies like CarPlay and Android Auto to Australian specifications, but nothing to confirm yet,” Butler said.

Aside from the upsized 7.0-inch Uconnect media system with the latest tech (Aussie cars persist with the budget looking 5.0-inch screen), the 2017 Fiat 500 Mirror model gets a new Electronica Blue paint option.
The Mirror also gets chrome mirror covers, a Mirror badge in brushed aluminium and the choice of either 14-inch wheels with chrome covers, or 15-inch alloys – we’re talking about a Euro-spec model, remember!
