Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio special editions celebrate 60 years of production
The Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio special editions have been revealed, celebrating the 60th anniversary of production for the Italian marque.
Starting at $309,990 before on-road costs for the GranTurismo coupe and $349,990 plus ORCs for the GranCabrio drop-top, the Maserati special editions mark 60 years since the launch of the company’s first series-production road car – the 3500GT.
Limited to 400 units globally for both body types, the special-edition GranTurismo and GranCabrio feature a number of exterior and interior styling enhancements.
Both models are available in three “extra campionario” paint finishes (campionario meaning ‘samples’ in Italian) – New Rosso Italiano (red), Bianco Birdcage (white) and Grigio Lava (grey) – along with four typical Maserati range colours – Nero (black), Bianco Eldorado (white), Nero Carbonio (carbon black) and Grigio Granito (grey).
Special gloss-black MC-design 20-inch alloy wheels with special-edition logo centre caps fill the arches, while the specials also feature a carbon-fibre bonnet and carbon-fibre-look front splitter, door handles, side mirrors and rear lip spoiler.
Inside, the special-edition coupe and convertible come equipped with ‘New Poltrona Frau leather or leather/Alcantara upholstery in four colour combinations, carbon-fibre trim on the centre console, paddle shifters, instrument surround, dash and doors.
Other interior enhancements include floor mats with colour piping, carbon-fibre door sills with ‘Special Edition’ logos, along with a plaque on the central tunnel branded with 60th anniversary badging and a number out of 400 referencing the limited production run.
Under the bonnet is the 4.7-litre naturally-aspirated V8 petrol engine co-developed with Ferrari, developing 338kW of power and 520Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The benchmark 0-100km/h sprint takes 4.8 seconds for the coupe, while the convertible is marginally slower, completing the run in 5.0 seconds flat. Maximum speeds are 298km/h and 285km/h respectively for the GranTurismo and GranCabrio.
Australia
Maserati’s local arm has confirmed 25 units of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio special editions will be heading to Australia, with around half of our allocation having already been sold.
